Walk of the Green Giants of Valongo
A series of walks throughout 2026 in various locations to discover and measure notable trees (Green Giants) and local habitats. Routes of 3–5 km, easy or intermediate difficulty, with free registration via an online form; places are limited, with priority given to local residents.
About the project
VERDE is a nature conservation association in Lousada, Portugal. It protects old-growth trees, supports biodiversity and offers carbon offsetting through tree preservation and planting. Its growing community takes part through volunteering, membership, outdoor activities and ambassador training.
