Volunteer for water retention and reforestation work days
EcoAtivo is looking for volunteers to join hands-on field work days in Cova da Beira, building water retention structures (beaver dams, biomass check dams, contour swales) in fire-affected pine forest and helping plant native broadleaf trees to restore the land and its water cycle.
About the project
EcoAtivo is a Portuguese nature protection and conservation association based in Fundão that works to improve the relationship between humans and the environment through regenerative ecology, environmental education, and technology-assisted ecosystem monitoring. The association runs multiple projects spanning syntropic agriculture, invasive species control, forest monitoring, and environmental education in the Serra da Estrela region.
