August Volunteering Actions – Guardians of Nature
Three volunteering opportunities in different protected areas of Portugal during August: Porto de Mós (Serra de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, Aug 3-6, supporting daily farm tasks and activities with children), Lindoso, Ponte da Barca (Peneda-Gerês Natural Park, Aug 18, logistical support for reception and guiding a group of 45 people at the Malhada do Centeio event), and Fão, Esposende (Litoral Norte Natural Park, Aug 29, cleaning small water lines essential for land drainage with support from ICNF and Esposende Ambiente). Interested people should email geral@businessasnature.org indicating which activity they want to join.
About the project
Guardiãs da Natureza is a national network of women acting as local catalysts for ecosystem regeneration, biodiversity conservation and sustainable rural development across Portugal's protected areas. Through training, mentoring and mapping of good practices, it empowers women to lead the transition to a circular, low-carbon rural economy.
