Summer Volunteer for the Sea
Ocean Alive is recruiting volunteers with a few free hours in August or September to help protect seagrass meadows in the Sado estuary. Roles include raising awareness with the boating community about seagrass meadows and good navigation practices, or joining the marine education and outreach team at Tróia-Mar beach near the Ponta do Adoxe meadow. About the project
Ocean Alive is Portugal's first cooperative dedicated to ocean protection, working with coastal and fishing communities to conserve seagrass meadows and reduce marine litter. It combines scientific research, advocacy, and community engagement to drive lasting behavioral change for a healthier ocean.
