Tree Watering Volunteer Day in Soito
Join Veredas da Estrela on a Sunday afternoon in Soito to water the trees planted in January, doing hands-on field work for the association. Bring a bucket, a hoe and a friend.
About the project
Veredas da Estrela is a community association founded after the 2022 wildfires destroyed 25% of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. It works to restore ecosystems and build fire-resilient villages in Figueiró da Serra and Freixo da Serra. The association organises community actions, trail restoration and events such as the Chocalhos Trail to connect people with the mountain and its regeneration.
