Avis council hands new protective gear to its forest sapper team

Topicswildfire prevention

Avis town council has given its municipal forest sapper team a fresh set of personal protective equipment. The handover took place on 20 October and covers gear used in forest protection and in preventing rural fires. The purchase was paid for through the 2026 call for support to forest sapper teams and brigades, run by the national nature and forests institute, ICNF, with money from the Environmental Fund. The council says the aim is to improve the safety and operational capacity of the crew when it manages and protects the municipality's woodland.
