O Cais

Eco café, sustainable shop and community space in Silves

O Cais is an eco café, sustainable shop and community space in a 1765 building beside the old Roman bridge over the Rio Arade in Silves. Everything on the menu is vegan or vegetarian, made with organic, locally sourced ingredients. The eco shop sells handcrafted products, local art and ethically sourced goods, chosen to support local makers. O Cais follows circular-economy principles, choosing second-hand where it can, and works directly with local farmers and producers. Open mic and jam sessions, film nights and cultural gatherings make it a meeting point for Silves and for everyone passing through.

Healing Circle Sanctuary

Co-living community and healing sanctuary in the hills of Silves

Healing Circle Sanctuary is an intentional co-living community in the hills of Silves. It started from a wish to co-create a sacred space with like-minded people, and brings co-living, healing, creativity, eco-building and sustainable living together in one place. Alongside co-living stays it offers healing sessions, Ayurveda, kinesiology and massage therapy, and guests join in with gardening, animal care and creative projects: the invitation is to take part, not just visit. Its guiding idea is the circle, a symbol of wholeness and interdependence that runs from the relationships between residents to the care of the land. Donkeys, dogs and cats share the place with plenty of wildlife, from birds and dragonflies to the turtles in the natural swimming pool.
