Concreta 2026 trade fair drops carpet to cut environmental impact

Concreta 2026, EXPONOR's construction, architecture and design fair, will not use carpet in its exhibition spaces, avoiding the installation and disposal of over 10,000 square metres of material during the four-day event. Curator Diogo Aguiar says the move aims to question long-standing exhibition practices and will gradually extend to temporary structures, signage, logistics and waste management. The fair, running 18-21 November alongside the Eletrica trade show, will also host a conference series on collaborative construction and a talks programme called 'Na Primeira Pessoa', with applications open until 16 July.
