Madeira walkers can still book and pay for trails closed on 8 November

Madeira's forestry and nature conservation institute (IFCN) has ordered every classified walking trail closed on Sunday 8 November, yet the SIMplifica portal still lets people book that date and generates payment references. Tourists have asked in walking groups what to do, and some say they paid after the closure was announced. A test booking by the newspaper for a non-resident went through and produced a payment document. Where the IFCN cancels, users get ten working days to ask for rescheduling or a full refund, but it is unclear whether that applies when weather prompts the closure.
