Madeira approves 22 new social housing units in Camacha

Madeira's Regional Government has approved a €5.49 million project, through housing body IHM, to build 22 new social housing units in the Nogueira neighbourhood, Camacha, Santa Cruz. The units will occupy the site of a former school and be split across three buildings with different typologies, including duplex and simplex homes with shared internal access and parking. Regional Secretary Pedro Rodrigues described it as part of the government's strategy to expand public housing stock. The scheme is part of a wider plan for the Nogueira neighbourhood, with a tender for rehabilitating existing houses there expected to launch later this year.
