Madeira restricts traffic for second wind blade transport

The second phase of a special operation to transport wind turbine blades in Madeira began on Sunday morning, with restricted traffic from 05:00 to 17:00 between Ribeira Brava and Paul da Serra. The 61.6-metre blades are being moved along sections of the VE3 road, through Ponta do Sol, Madalena do Mar, Arco da Calheta, Calheta and Prazeres, as well as Regional Roads 219 and 105. Escort vehicles and relevant authorities are accompanying the convoy. Drivers are advised to slow down, keep a safe distance, avoid overtaking and expect delays, planning journeys towards the wind farm access roads in advance.
