Quercus to present three-year post-wildfire recovery findings at free Vila Real seminar
On 9 November the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro hosts the closing seminar of the Interreg REFLORESTA project, organised by Quercus in Vila Real. After three years, Portuguese and Spanish partners will present new models for assessing wildfire vulnerability and for predicting post-fire erosion on slopes, plus land-management plans tested in burned pilot areas. A round table covers recovery techniques, from restoring watercourses to reducing erosion risk. In the afternoon, participants visit a burned site in Alijó to watch drone seeding. Attendance is free but requires registration.
