Rural resistance network marks first year with 35 local struggles backed against solar and lithium projects

Brava, a rural resistance network, says it backed 35 local movements in its first twelve months, from Covas do Barroso to the Arrábida, and gathered 280 offers of legal, technical and financial help. It reports record turnout in environmental consultations on projects such as the Sophia solar plant and the Barroso lithium mine. Its resistance fund raised €3,700 and gave €3,000 to five projects, including river defence and court costs. The network marks its anniversary in Lisbon on 6 November, and plans three further funding rounds of €3,000 each in 2027, alongside events in rural areas.
