Refood campaign collects batteries and bulbs in Leiria region

Refood has launched the second edition of its 'Desperdício Zero, Impacto Duplo' campaign, running until the end of September, inviting people to drop off used batteries and light bulbs at its Leiria, Caldas da Rainha and Alcobaça centres. ERP Portugal will collect the materials for proper recycling. As an incentive, appliance company Orima will donate new, more efficient refrigeration equipment to the Refood centres that collect the most waste, helping them store food and reduce food waste while promoting safe disposal of hazardous materials.
