Rotary Club and PortoBay agree three-year upkeep of Madeira's Pico Ruivo hiking trail

The Rotary Club of Funchal and the PortoBay Group have signed a three-year partnership to maintain and conserve the Vereda do Pico Ruivo do Paul da Serra, a walking trail in Madeira. The aim is safer, easier passage for hikers while protecting the surrounding vegetation and natural heritage. It builds on a July agreement between the club and Madeira's forests and nature conservation institute (IFCN) covering the trail's management, improvement, signage and upkeep. The first joint clean-up took place on 20 October in the Estanquinhos area, opening a programme of work planned over the coming three years.
