Circular building practices in Portugal
A building is a material store that happens to have people in it. Circular practice asks what that store is made of, whether it can be taken apart again, and where it goes when the building stops being useful, questions concrete answers badly.
Cânhamor makes certified carbon-negative hemp blocks in Ourique. Green Heritage supplies modular bio-construction kits from Idanha-a-Nova. Natura Matéria develops materials as a University of Minho spin-off, CECOLAB researches circular economy from Oliveira do Hospital, and Amorim turns cork waste into insulation.
