The projects here teach by having you turn up. Some run formal courses; others simply put you in a place where the thing is being done and let you help.
Novas Descobertas runs educational programmes. The Orchard of Flavours is an edible botanical garden you can walk through. Cerdeira, a schist village in the Serra da Lousã brought back from near-abandonment, houses workshops and residencies. Between them sit farm stays, skill workshops, school programmes and documentary work.
Use the focus filter for sustainable tourism, workshops and trainings, eco-tourism and experiential learning, nature-based learning, community education, sustainability in schools, DIY skills and guides, online courses and resources, and storytelling and documentaries. Dates for anything running soon are on our events calendar rather than here, this page lists the projects, the calendar lists what they have coming up.
