Protest against privatisation of Alentejo coast beaches (TAMLA platform)

A wealthy landowner is pursuing legal action to claim exclusive ownership of five beaches in the Setúbal area (Rasca, Comenda, Rainha, Maria Esguelha, and Albarquel), citing royal decrees from 170 years ago. Citizens' movements are mobilising to prevent privatisation of these historically public beaches, with another protest scheduled for 3 October at Galé Beach.
