Green Giants Ambassador

The Gigantes Verdes Project is growing in several regions of Portugal, involving citizens, organisations, companies and municipalities in the identification, valuing and protection of large trees. VERDE is looking for people who wish to become Gigantes Verdes Ambassadors. The training is in person, lasts a full day (around 7 hours) and combines theory and practice: large trees, measuring techniques, identification of microhabitats and use of the mobile application for recording the Gigantes Verdes. Upcoming training sessions: 12 September (Guarda) and 19 September (Penafiel), dates to be confirmed. In Penafiel, the training takes place in partnership with ADERSOUSA, in the Terras do Sousa region. Places are limited, with priority given to participants from the municipalities where the project is being implemented and who have attended a presentation session. The online presentation session on 1 September is open to everyone, including those who do not yet intend to take the training.
