Volunteers for reforestation planting day
Join a reforestation action on Saturday the 25th, 10am–5pm, sowing black oak acorns in the Serra da Estrela. Meet at 9:30am at the start of the dirt road near Sra. da Assedasse. A mountain-style picnic lunch with produce from the project's own farm will be provided. Sign up by direct message by the 23rd.
About the project
Reserva do Vale Velho is an ecological restoration and cultural preservation project on a 100-hectare former farm in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, combining organic farming, rewilding, and archaeology. It is run by a young couple dedicated to reforestation, biodiversity recovery, and safeguarding local heritage and ancestral knowledge.
