Volunteer field day – Sintra-Cascais Natural Park restoration
Join Plantar Uma Árvore's ongoing forest restoration work in the Ribeira do Monge plot, Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, alongside the Parque de Sintra – Monte da Lua forestry team. Volunteers help control bramble and invasive species such as acacia, repair storm damage, replace tree protectors, hoe and mound soil, and manage wood for shelters. Intensive efforts will continue over the coming months and new volunteers are always welcome.
About the project
Plantar uma Árvore is a Portuguese environmental NGO that conserves native forest and restores habitats through volunteer tree planting and recovery programmes. It has involved over 37,000 volunteers in natural areas including the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and the Mata Nacional do Bussaco.
