Águas do Algarve opens fifth art contest for social-care groups, themed around water and sea

Águas do Algarve has launched the fifth edition of "A Água e o Mar para Mim" for 2026/2027, under the theme "A Obra conta uma história". It is open to Algarve institutions working with older people, people with disabilities and others in social care, who turn an ordinary umbrella into an artwork using reused materials and participants' own experiences of water and the sea. The previous round drew 44 applications and 55 projects, a record, and a ceremony in Faro with around 300 people. Finished works tour exhibitions in several Algarve municipalities.
