Águas do Alentejo to build 15 solar power units for self-consumption

Águas Públicas do Alentejo (AgdA) will invest nearly €1.8 million to build 15 photovoltaic power units for self-consumption at water and wastewater facilities across the Beja, Évora and Setúbal districts. A public tender was launched on 3 November, with a 40-month execution period. The company says about 80% of the energy produced could be used internally in its water supply and sanitation infrastructure, cutting reliance on the grid, costs and environmental impact. The move is part of AgdA's plan to reach full energy self-sufficiency from renewable sources by 2030.
