Braga launches Climate Week with public events until 29 September

Braga's municipal council is running Climate Week 2026, starting the day after this report and continuing until 29 September, with activities on climate adaptation, biodiversity and sustainable behaviour aimed at schools, businesses and the public. Events take place at the Quinta Pedagógica, Parque das Camélias and the Este river, including a pond biodiversity session, a river clean-up on 26 September, a workshop mapping shade and cooling spots for a planned network of climate shelters, and a woodland field trip on 27 September. Data gathered from the shade workshop will feed into a master's thesis on planning the shelter network. Some activities require prior registration via the council's website.
