Cascais launches €738,000 tender for textile waste collection
Cascais Ambiente has opened a public tender worth €738,000 for a 24-month service to collect textile waste from 150 collection points fitted with fill-level sensors and communications equipment. The tender, published in the Diário da República, runs for 30 days until 20 October 2026, and the contract may be extended once, up to a maximum of 36 months. Bins must always have available capacity and stay clean, with a maximum fill level of 30% every Friday. The move follows Cascais's pilot project (Re)Vestir Cascais, which has already collected over a tonne of textiles and avoided around 3.4 tonnes of CO₂.
