CerealTech issues 2026/27 recommended durum wheat varieties, naming two top-class cultivars

Topicsnative plant conservation

The CerealTech consortium has released its recommended varieties list for durum wheat ahead of the 2026/27 sowing season, aimed at helping Portuguese growers choose suitable cultivars for their farms. Drawing on more than ten years of field trials, it places Don Ricardo and Fado in the top 'Class A' category. Alidur, Ferradur and Torla are in their first year of testing, and Ramidur in its second. The trials were carried out by INIAV-Elvas, IPBeja/ESA and Cerealis, with PEPAC co-funding. Lists for soft wheat and barley are on the consortium's portal.
