Climate adaptation strategy extended to end of 2026

Portugal's government has extended the 2020 National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change until 31 December 2026, according to a resolution published on 29 June. The move is meant to keep existing funding-access conditions in place while a new National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change 2030 is being prepared and approved. Other measures published around the same period include a new water management strategy called Agua Que Une, a mission structure to oversee the PRR recovery plan, and a new PEPAC support scheme covering costs for farmers facing calamities and climate-related risks.
