Coimbra university holds sustainability days on AI ethics

The University of Coimbra will hold the fourth edition of its Sustainability Days from 30 September to 15 October, focused this year on artificial intelligence. Sessions across the Polo I campus will bring together academics, university leaders, students and civil society to discuss AI's role in teaching, research, innovation and civic participation, alongside concerns about digital infrastructure, institutional responsibility and governance. Events include a student-focused afternoon at the Botanical Garden on 7 October and a closing international conference on 15 October about universities' role in setting safeguards for advanced AI systems. Most sessions are open to the public with registration open until 23 September.
