Creator of "15-minute city" concept to speak at Guimarães event

Urbanist Carlos Moreno, known worldwide for creating the "15-minute city" concept, will speak at the 8th National Urban Cleaning Meeting (ENLU), held in Guimarães from 8 to 10 September 2026. Moreno, a professor at Université Panthéon-Sorbonne and winner of a UN-Habitat honour in 2022, will discuss new approaches to making cities more resilient to environmental, social and economic challenges. The event, organised by the ALU association, is part of the Guimarães European Green Capital 2026 programme and gathers specialists, local officials, academics and companies to debate urban cleaning and public space quality under the theme "[Un]Building the Future".
