DGADR publishes July 2026 drought monitoring report

The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGADR) has released its Agrometeorological and Hydrological Monitoring Report dated 31 July 2026 on its website. Part of the national Drought Prevention, Monitoring and Contingency Plan, the report tracks weather conditions, soil moisture and reservoir water levels across mainland Portugal to set alert thresholds for meteorological, agricultural and hydrological drought. It draws on work by DGADR alongside the GPP, APA, IPMA and ICNF. Farmers can use the data to manage crop irrigation needs and plan any emergency watering during one of the year's most demanding months.
