Dutch carbon procurement tool to launch in Portugal in October

The CO₂ Performance Ladder, a Dutch methodology that uses public procurement to push suppliers to cut carbon emissions, is being adapted for Portugal and will officially launch in Lisbon on 15 October. Aliados Consulting is coordinating the work with Dutch foundation SKAO, having analysed the national legal framework, trained public entities and run three editions of a preparatory programme. The next phase focuses on integrating the methodology into actual procurement procedures, aiming to make public purchasing decisions drive verifiable emissions reductions and push suppliers to track and report their climate performance.
