EPAL runs environmental campaign at six river beaches

EPAL and Águas do Vale do Tejo are running an environmental awareness campaign in June and July at six inland river beaches, aimed mainly at children, young people and families. Sessions led by EPAL's environmental education team address sustainable water management, resource protection and tap water as a safe alternative. Locations include Alandroal, Portel, Mourão, Oleiros, Guarda and Sabugal, each running one morning session. The campaign coincides with the beaches earning 17 Quercus Gold Quality ratings, 11 Blue Flags and three Pollution-Free Beach flags in 2026, with two pilot projects to be presented in Valhelhas on 10 July.
