Funchal marine biology station opens for evening public talk

The Funchal City Council is hosting an 'Open Night' at the Marine Biology Station, featuring a talk titled 'Five million years of history in 60 minutes', exploring Madeira's origins and biodiversity. Biologist Manuel Biscoito will present the talk at 9:30pm, preceded by a guided tour of the station at 8pm, for which registration is required via email. The session will cover the archipelago's volcanic origins, island ages, terrestrial and marine fauna, endemic and introduced species, and the strong European affinity of Madeira's wildlife. The event is open to all ages.
