Funding call opens for bioeconomy projects in Baixo Alentejo

Applications are open until 30 October 2026 for a €300,000 support scheme targeting small investments in bioeconomy and circular economy projects in the Baixo Alentejo region, covered by local action group GAL AXXI. The call, aimed at parishes in Beja and Mértola, supports the creation or upgrading of agricultural processing units, with a 50% support rate for investments between €10,000 and €250,000. Evaluation criteria include project maturity, innovation, quality certifications and use of by-products or waste. Interested parties can seek guidance from AJAP, the Portuguese young farmers' association.
