Guimarães exhibition to show results of nine street redesigns

Starting 21 September 2026, the University of Minho's School of Architecture, Art and Design in Guimarães will host the exhibition "REBALANCING STREETs", marking the conclusion of the FCT-funded STREET research project. Developed by the Lab2PT laboratory, the project created a diagnostic tool combining environmental, social and mobility criteria to translate UN Sustainable Development Goals into practical urban planning solutions. The free exhibition presents before-and-after results from sustainable redesigns of nine Portuguese streets, showing measurable gains in quality of life, urban biodiversity and pedestrian priority, and aims to spark debate on replicating these approaches elsewhere.
