Guimarães to host Eurocities Environment Forum in 2026

Guimarães has been chosen to host the 2026 edition of the Eurocities Environment Forum, one of the leading international conferences on urban environmental policy, taking place from 3 to 6 November. The event coincides with the city's year as European Green Capital. Mayor Ricardo Araújo called it recognition of a long-term local commitment to ecological transition, biodiversity and community involvement. Guimarães has been an active Eurocities member since 2015, chairing its Green Areas and Biodiversity group since 2016, and now also leads the Waste and Circular Economy group and a new Climate Resilience Task Force.
