Injured terrapin rescued from stream in Funchal

Madeira's volunteer fire brigade rescued a terrapin from a stream on Travessa Costa Dias, in Funchal's Imaculado Coração de Maria area, after an alert at 15:55. Three rescue team members responded to retrieve the animal, which had a crack in its shell near the belly. The terrapin was subsequently handed over to the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN), which will monitor its condition.
