Lufthansa unit to deploy Portuguese electric BEN vehicle at airports

Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal has chosen the Portuguese-made BEN electric vehicle, developed by CEiiA, to support ground handling operations at Lisbon and Porto airports. It is the first time a Lufthansa Group company has adopted the compact vehicle, which will be tested from September with operations planned for 2027. The deal aims to cut energy use, costs and emissions, and links carbon credits generated to Help Alliance Portugal, funding local social projects. The agreement will be signed on 29 June in Porto, alongside the launch of Help Alliance Portugal.
