Madeira forestry teams clean up litter on Rabaçal trails

The Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) is carrying out ongoing cleaning and maintenance work on the pedestrian trail network in Rabaçal, Madeira, including around the PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes route. The institute says heavy visitor numbers to the area require constant monitoring and regular intervention along the paths, surrounding zones and less visible spots. The work aims to keep the area tidy, cut down on rubbish and protect the environmental and scenic value of Rabaçal, one of Madeira's most visited natural sites. The IFCN is appealing to visitors to take all their rubbish with them rather than leaving it in nature.
