Madeira students' recycling app advances to Apps for Good final

At the Madeira regional round of the Apps for Good educational programme, five student projects from three schools competed to represent the region in the national final. ECOBinGO!, developed by students Raquel and Lucas from Escola Básica 2/3 do Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, won the contest. The app helps users recycle correctly, locate nearby recycling points, check waste collection schedules across Madeira's municipalities, and report problems such as street litter or damaged bins. The team will now represent Madeira at the national final in Lisbon on 18 September, alongside winning projects from schools across Portugal.
