Montalegre hosts rural world fair for three days in July

Montalegre, in Vila Real district, will host the ECAPTURMONT fair from 17 to 19 July, styled by organisers as turning the town into the "capital of the rural world". Promoted by ACAPTURMONT with support from the local municipality and other entities, the event brings together businesses, producers, associations and visitors from Portugal and Spain around hunting, fishing, nature tourism, farming and rural traditions. It takes place in Barroso, a region recognised by the FAO as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, and aims to showcase its biodiversity, gastronomy and local products.
