Off-road rally links reforestation drive across Portugal

The 11th edition of Portugal de Lés-a-Lés Off-Road starts on 1 October in Vila Verde, Braga district, and finishes in Portimão, passing through Viseu and Almeirim. The route, mostly on dirt tracks, covers around 300 kilometres a day and again includes the Reflorestar Portugal de Lés-a-Lés campaign, run by the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation. Activities include tree planting with native species and school talks, with pupils receiving a comic book on forest protection, fire risk and soil erosion. The event is non-competitive but requires off-road driving experience. Registrations close on 14 September.
