Viana do Castelo polytechnic helps build EU farm diversification course and digital tools

Topicsagricultural training and education

The Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo (UNIPVC) was the only Portuguese institution among 11 partners from six countries in MyFarm, a European project whose results were presented at Paço de Calheiros in Ponte de Lima. It created a new European qualification, Multifunctionality Technician, backed by a free online course of 250 hours. Of 219 people who finished the four modules across the countries, 145 completed the full course, including 17 in Portugal. The project also produced a self-assessment platform for farms and an interactive map of multifunctional farms and advisers. Agritourism, educational activities and environmental services are among the options it explores.
