Portimão utility promotes food waste sorting at market event

EMARP, Portimão's municipal water and waste company, set up a stand at the Lota Cool Market to promote its "Com restos de comida não se brinca" campaign, encouraging households to separate organic waste. Residents who have not yet joined the scheme can collect a free brown bin to start sorting food scraps at home. Children can decorate cardboard boxes using PEPA mascot templates, while adults can play a wheel-of-fortune game on water and waste topics, with recycling kits among the prizes. The market runs until Sunday, 19 July, near the Antiga Lota in Portimão's riverside area.
