Portugal has the lowest recognition of the EU eco-label, Eurobarometer finds
A Eurobarometer survey published on World Ecolabel Day shows 57% of people in Portugal do not know the EU's flower-shaped eco-label, the highest share in the bloc and well above the EU average of 42%. Only 32% of Portuguese respondents say they recognise it, against 71% in Luxembourg. Buying habits are closer to the European norm: 11% buy labelled products regularly, 31% sometimes and 17% never. The European Commission reads the EU-wide figures as growing trust in the label, with 46% of Europeans buying such products at least occasionally. More than 100,000 products now carry it.
