Quercus, with Corticeira Amorim, Missão Continente and Maia town council, is holding a hybrid conference on Friday 16 October at Quinta da Gruta, in Maia, to open the 2026/2027 Green Cork campaign for schools and charities. The last edition involved 94,656 pupils and service users from 271 organisations, who collected 17,380 kg of cork stoppers, equal to 52,140 trees planted. The top three organisations in each of four categories will receive prizes of €750, €500 and €250 in Cartão Dá vouchers. Talks will cover sustainable tourism, hotel-sector practices and forest conservation, followed by a pollinator workshop for up to 30 people.
