Six swimmers to attempt 20km sea route to Viana wind farm

Six swimmers will cover 20 kilometres between the WindFloat Atlantic floating wind farm off Viana do Castelo and the city on 18 July, in a challenge organised to mark the project's sixth anniversary. Ocean Winds, the farm's main owner, describes the feat as unprecedented, linking it to shared values of pioneering spirit, determination and resilience between elite sport and offshore wind development. The swimmers depart by boat at around 08:30 towards the wind farm and are expected to reach Praça da Liberdade in Viana do Castelo by 15:30.
