Sociedade Ponto Verde launches new platform for R&D funding

Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV) has launched a new digital platform to manage its funding programme for research and development projects on packaging and packaging waste. The scheme is open to companies, startups, universities and NGOs, including those based abroad, provided projects apply within Portugal. SPV has already invested over 6 million euros in 69 R&D projects, and 19.4 million euros since 1996 across more than 120 studies involving over 150 entities. The platform aims to simplify applications, which run continuously, as Portugal faces a 2026 target of 65% selective collection of packaging placed on the market.
