Young volunteers rebuild home of two struggling brothers in Famalicão

Volunteers from the association Just a Change spent about two weeks rebuilding the home of two brothers in Mogege, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, who were living in hardship. The work included a new bathroom, an equipped kitchen, a refurbished facade, interior insulation and replacement of all doors and windows. Their sister Dolores, who looks after them, said the house no longer looks the same. The association has helped five families in the municipality this year, backed by 110,000 euros in council funding between 2023 and 2026, which has paid for 16 homes to be repaired. The council also runs a separate scheme, Casa Feliz, with year-round applications.
