Amorim Cork Insulation

Amorim Cork Insulation is a Portuguese company specialising in natural cork-based insulation products for sustainable construction, operating as part of the Corticeira Amorim group. Its range of expanded cork agglomerate products offers eco-friendly thermal, acoustic, and vibration insulation for new builds and renovation projects alike.
Amorim Cork Insulation, operating under the Amorim Cork Solutions brand and part of the Corticeira Amorim group, is a Portuguese company headquartered in Mozelos, Santa Maria da Feira, specialising in the manufacture and commercialisation of cork-based insulation products for the construction sector.
Cork is one of the world's most sustainable natural materials: harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without felling them, it is fully renewable, 100% natural, biodegradable, and recyclable at end of life. Portugal is the world's largest cork producer, and Amorim Cork Insulation sits at the heart of this heritage, transforming a centuries-old natural resource into cutting-edge building solutions.
The company's product range includes expanded cork agglomerate (ICB) boards and rolls used for thermal, acoustic, and vibration insulation in walls, floors, roofs, and facades. These products are suited both for new construction and for renovation and retrofitting projects, offering a natural alternative to petroleum-derived insulation materials such as EPS or XPS. Cork's unique cellular structure provides excellent thermal resistance, acoustic dampening, and moisture regulation, while also being lightweight and easy to install.
From a circular economy perspective, cork insulation products can be manufactured using recycled cork waste generated by the wine stopper industry, further closing the material loop. The company supplies architects, builders, and sustainable construction professionals across Europe and globally, aligning with growing demand for low-carbon, biogenic building materials that contribute to healthier indoor environments and reduced embodied carbon.
Beyond construction performance, Amorim Cork Insulation supports biodiversity through the preservation of montado ecosystems — the cork oak landscapes of the Iberian Peninsula — which are among Europe's most biodiverse habitats. By positioning cork insulation as a mainstream construction material, the company contributes to the decarbonisation of the built environment and advances the broader transition toward sustainable, circular building practices.
Our Goal

Our Wishes
