Amorim Cork Insulation is a Portuguese company that makes and sells cork-based insulation for the construction sector. It trades under the Amorim Cork Solutions brand, belongs to the Corticeira Amorim group, and has its headquarters in Mozelos, Santa Maria da Feira. The range is expanded cork agglomerate (ICB), in boards and rolls, used for thermal, acoustic and vibration insulation in walls, floors, roofs and facades. It suits new construction as well as renovation and retrofitting, and gives builders a natural alternative to petroleum-derived insulation such as EPS or XPS. Cork's cellular structure provides thermal resistance, acoustic dampening and moisture regulation. It's also light and easy to install. Cork, a centuries-old natural resource, is stripped from the bark of cork oaks without felling the tree. It's renewable, 100% natural, biodegradable and recyclable at the end of its life, and Portugal is the world's largest producer. The insulation can also be manufactured from recycled cork waste generated by the wine stopper industry, which closes the material loop further.
